Has accumulated 43 years of teaching, including this year, in grade levels one through eight. Has taught in Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, and California. Thirty-four of the most recent years of teaching, including this year, have been as a sixth-grade teacher at Loma Linda Academy.
Received a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in English from Columbia Union College in 1968.
Has completed studies and taken continuing education through Columbia Union College in Maryland, Kent State in Ohio, Southern College in Tennessee, La Sierra University in California, Loma Linda University in California, University of California Riverside in California, California State University of Monterey Bay in California, University of San Diego in California. Has taken workshops in Sacred Choreography at University of Utah in Utah, Carlton University in Oshuwa, Canada; Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut; University of California Berkley in California, Pacific School of Religion in Berkley, California and Pacific School of Religion Graduate Theological Union in California.
Received the MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Elementary Education emphasis) from La Sierra University in 1994.
Received Certificate in The Study of Multiple Intelligences from University of California Riverside in 2003.
Awarded California State Certification. Holds the Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Clear Credential from the state of California and is certified to teach Preschool through grade 12 and Adult Education. Has been state certified in Michigan and Ohio.
Awarded Professional Teaching Certificate from the Office of Education, North American Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.
Is a certified True Colors presenter (True Colors is a personality, learning styles inventory for adults and young people of all ages.)
Has conducted seminars in True Colors, Storytelling, Drama, Puppetry, Sacred Choreography, Multiple Intelligences and Writing.
Has been the Director of the Lower Division Sabbath School, Co- Director of the Junior Division Department, and a Master Guide serving as part of the Pathfinder Team at the Campus Hill Church.
Has been on the Board of Elders at the Campus Hill Church for over 20 years. Has been involved in the leadership of a Christian Twelve-Step program, an outreach to people with addictive behaviors for 12 years. Has been a member of the Involvement Team, a team that studies and implements methods to involve church members in ministry according to their passions and interests. Has worked with Homeless Ministry, a project that reaches out to the homeless. Has been a member of the Peace Makers team and Women’s Ministry. Has been Director of Children’s and Family Ministries and coordinator of Family Life Forum. Has been co-director of Women's Health.
Has been a member of Body and Soul, a sacred choreography choir based in the Claremont Colleges Community and has been active in presenting workshops and choreographies in the surrounding congregations and community outreaches for 12 years.
Has conducted classes in the Prayer-Path Labyrinth at Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California.
Has conducted puppet-making workshops for Chino Hills Public School GATE TOGETHER (GATE) program for highly gifted and talented students.
Has attended the California GATE Convention to glean the best ideas from the brightest minds in the educational industry. Has been a presenter for the 04 and 05 GATE Convention in Sacramento, CA.
Has been a judge for Odyssey of the Mind involving science, technology, engineering, art and math (known as STEAM) for the state of California public schools.
